How we started

Our Story

The journey of the Neonatal Health Improvement Foundation (NEOHIM Foundation) began with a clear and urgent mission. We observed firsthand the silent struggle faced by countless newborns in Ghana—a battle for survival often lost due to a lack of essential resources. While a baby's first moments should be filled with hope, they are too often met with life-threatening challenges. From under-equipped health facilities to a lack of trained professionals and support for vulnerable families, the gaps in neonatal care are wide, especially in our rural and underserved communities.

Driven by a profound commitment to change this reality, we established NEOHIM Foundation as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to giving every Ghanaian baby a healthy start to life. We exist to be a bridge, connecting resources with the urgent needs of newborns, their mothers, and the healthcare providers who care for them. Our work is a direct response to a humanitarian need, and it is a commitment we renew every day.

Who We Are

We are a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving neonatal health. Our primary focus is on a comprehensive, three-part strategy:

1. Educating and Informing:

We work to increase public awareness of neonatal health challenges by supporting, educating, and informing women, families, and communities.

2. Raising Funds and Equipping Facilities:

We raise funds to procure, donate, and distribute critical neonatal equipment—such as incubators, phototherapy machines, and respiratory support devices—to health facilities across Ghana.

3. Providing Financial Assistance:

We raise funds to provide life-saving financial assistance for newborns facing critical health conditions that require surgery.

VISION

To reduce neonatal mortality and morbidity significantly across the country, ensuring access to quality healthcare for mother and child, especially in rural and underserved areas.

MISSION

To mobilize funds and resources to execute programs aimed at improving the survival rates of newborns across Ghana, through education, equipment supplies and financial assistance.
